So I am making a site to host the lyrics I write for rap/hip hop songs. I just found this website that has some great CSS coding that really made a good website. So I changed the banner of the website to go with my rap group, and then I tried to change the forum width, so it would spread across the whole computer screen. However it didn't seem to change the width when I changed it under:
Admin Panel - General - Forum (Configuration)

Im thinking the huge CSS coding has something to do with, and most of it is just changing the colours of the website, and Ive already taken out a good quarter of all of it. However it's going to take me months to take stuff out, figure out if I need it, see if I can change the page width etc. So I was wondering if someone could take a look at the CSS code below, and help me break this thing down so that I can change the forum width, and still keep all the cool features. I would be glad if the colour codes were deleted as well.

You could start from the scrath and go deactive the basic CSS?

First of all, you say the css is from another website. Which website?
Second, stealing css from others without permission is copyright infrightment and is illigal.
Third, if you have a css that defines the width of the forum, you need to edit it in the css itself, editing it in the control panel WON'T work anymore

Fourth, create your own css, than you won't have any of these problems

To answer your question to why it isn't working, it's because the ids and classes probably doesn't match with the ones in your forum, so they'll never work unless you edit them (the CSS).
